KNRC Series Moves To Nakuru

The KCB Micro Banking Rally will take place this weekend on the 31st July in Nakuru. This is the fifth leg of the KCB sponsored Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC) series.
There are now just three rallies left in the 2010 KNRC calendar. The KCB S&L Mortgages Rally is slated for September in Nairobi, while the KCB Asset Based Finance Rally will take place in Mombasa in October and the KCB Guru Nanak Rally also for Nairobi will close off the season in November.


Over 40 entries are anticipated to compete in the KCB Micro Banking Rally that is the first to go to Nakuru in a while. Organized by the Rift Valley Motor and Sports Club (RVMSC), the rally will kick off at 7.30am at the KCB Branch located within Egerton University in Njoro.


In contention will be the number one spot currently held by the KNRC standings leader, Alastair Cavenagh with 270 points. In a distant second place is Ian Duncan with 223 points.
Baldev Chager follows closely in third place with 215 points after being pipped off the number two spot during the Simba Savings Rally in Meru last June. Carl Tundo (160), and Peter Horsey (135) are fourth and fifth respectively.
Sitting pretty at the top of the Formula Two standings is, Leonardo Varese, inching closer to clinching the F2 title for the second time with every rally. He is followed by Munir Khan and Peter Mburu in second and third place. Andan Suhail is in fourth place while Charles Hinga closes off the top five spots.
Scrutineering for the rally will take place at the Egerton’s ARC Hotel from 9am to 4pm on Friday July 30. The rally will feature five competitive stages with the service park positioned right at the Equator within Mogotio town. The highlight of the competition will be the 1km spectator stage next to the service park.
The KCB Group has invested a total of KShs 30 million in the KCB KNRC 2010 series and lays a lot of recognition on the rally. Apart from exciting spectators and nurturing talent the rally presents a good opportunity for the bank to introduce and sell its products in a fun way.

Among others The KCB Group through the KCB Foundation uses the opportunity to partner with communities within the rallying circuit in elaborate Corporate Social Investments (CSI) programs. Over the weekend, the Foundation will support Lomanira Primary School  by purchasing constructing materials, furniture for both staff and  students, the sponsorship will be funded to a tune of Kshs. 250,000.
